Serves: 1 delightful cocktail

Tastes like: A combination of sweet smelling spring flowers and really amazing summer day with friends in a glass.

Recommended Liquor: Aviation Gin or Plymouth Gin – a solid London Dry Gin that doesn’t overpower the lilac but instead elevates it’s flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Gin

  • Juice of half a lemon

  • 4 ounces tonic water (Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic or preferably one without corn syrup)

  • 1.5 ounces lilac simple syrup (or sweetened to taste)

  • Ice

  • Garnish: dehydrated lilac flowers & dehydrated lemon wheel

Directions:

  1. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into your new highball glass and then put the squeeze lemon in the cup and muddle to release zest.

  2. Fill the glass with ice.

  3. Add two ounces gin.

  4. Pour 4 ounces tonic water over top.

  5. Finish with 1.5 ounces lilac syrup (or to sweetened to taste).

  6. Give the cocktail a quick stir before serving.

  7. Float a few lilac blossoms and the dehydrated lemon wheel on top of the cocktail and let the flavors soak in.

  8. Enjoy

Notes: Amounts are recommendations NOT rules, have fun, play with the taste and find what you like. I tend to prefer more salt than sweet. This cocktail plays to the sweet side a bit so use the citrus as a means to curb the sweetness if that is what you prefer.
